Market Research & Surveys: The best alternatives to SurveyMonkey
Today's Angel Rated guide is an overview of the best market research and survey tools that are out there.
Whether it's researching the views of your ideal customer, or getting feedback from existing clients, we often need to set up a quick survey to collect data that will help our business.
And for a long time, it seemed that the only option was to use SurveyMonkey (which isn't always the prettiest, especially on the free plan!).
But those days are over, and there are now a wide variety of tools to choose from.
Which market research / survey tools have the best free plan?
This is the question I set out to answer, but it appears that there are a number of tools that are remarkably similar!
The following guide shows the limitations in terms of surveys, questions and responses for each tool that has a free plan. As well as the entry level plan for those tools, and some further platforms that are each interesting in their own way.
You can download the Market Research & Survey Tools Guide here.
My key takeaway from this, is that if you want to create multiple forms with dozens of questions and hundreds of respondents, then the best way to do that for free is to use Google Forms. Not super beautiful and the question types are limited, but it'll get the job done.
All the other tools with a free plan limit you in some way, but all slightly differently...
If you need to create lots of surveys, then either SurveyMonkey or SmartSurvey might work best for you (with SmartSurvey allowing for more questions).
If you don't want to be constrained to 10 or 15 questions, then SurveyGizmo might be the answer (and it has more question types too).
And if you're likely to have more respondents than average, then Super Simple Survey might be the solution.
Other things you might want to consider are aesthetics, on which Typeform wins hands down! Or if you want lots of online form templates, then Wufoo could be the answer.
Of the tools without a free plan, both GetFeedback and KeySurvey seem more focused on the corporate market.
Gravity Forms is the only tool on this list that is specifically intended for use on your Wordpress site. Use it to create advanced forms directly on your website.
Finally, if you've always used SurveyMonkey and have got to the point of paying for their entry level plan, then you might want to consider something cheaper. ProProfs Survey Maker is a great option and is the cheapest unlimited paid plan focused specifically on surveys.
Now it's your turn: be an Angel Reviewer and share your experience
To help everyone work out which tool is right for them, Angel Rated needs reviews of the tools you are currently using, or have previously tried. So, do please take two minutes to review any of the market research and survey tools mentioned above.
This is the best way to not let your knowledge and experience go to waste, and to give back to the Angel Rated community.
If you'd rather see all the options in one place, then head on over to this search where you can sort and filter all the tools listed to find the one that's just right for you.
And if you're using something that's not on this list, then I'd love to hear from you so that I can get it added.
