Building new habits to cope in times of uncertainty
Building new habits and getting support
Everything that's been happening this week has made me think about how we build new habits, and where we get support from in our lives.
On Angel Rated, there are a variety of products listed that have been recommended to help with accountability and daily habit tracking. If you need something to keep you motivated while you get used to a new routine, then have a look at the full list here.
The majority of these are apps that remind you to take action and record your progress. These include Way of Life, Strides, Fabulous, Loop Habit and iHabit. These are all free, but with various in-app purchases.
Coach.Me is similar to these in terms of habit tracking, but also allows you to pay extra for Habit Coaching so that you have someone by your side for added support and accountability.
If you're into gaming, then another option is Habitica. This 'gamifies' your life by turning all your tasks (habits and to-dos) into little monsters you have to conquer. The better you are at this, the more you progress in the game. And if you slip up in life, your character starts backsliding in the game.
Lastly, for anyone trying to get into using the Pomodoro technique to ensure that they stay focused on one task despite everything else that is going on around them, one solution might be TomatoTimer. This is a super simple website that allows you to set timer intervals for specific tasks.
